In time of personal crisis it is so helpful and good to be soothed
by the belief that "I am not my possessions",
and to "practice" non-attachment to things can only serve us well.
To lose beloved, cherished objects to theft is painful,
but to remember that they are not "real" is comforting.
Harder is to deal with the feeling of intrusion and violation,
but I need to remember that only my body and mind are susceptible to it,
and that I, my spirit, never will be.
