(Spring 2005)
We live in a time of tremendous spiritual upheaval. People all over are craving
a genuine contact with the Divinity, and many are converting
to spiritual movements and religions that support them
in getting in touch with their inner Divine Nature, or Self.
It is a spiritual famine, a longing to contact that Undifferentiated Consciousness
from which everything originates, and of which everything is made.
Along with it, the collective consciousness' level is undergoing a critical shift in
awareness, meaning that more people is evolving at a higher speed.

One of the major points the perennial philosophers and sages emphasize,
in order to be in contact with that Source of Everything, which is Pure Consciousnesses,
is the importance of living in the moment, in the now.
Author and enlightened man Echart Tolle wrote an outstanding book about
this issue, titled The Power of Now. It is the best book on "practical spirituality" I have read so far. Period.
Every page is filled with words that ring so powerfully true.. the reading is
consciousness-raising. I encourage every one to read it.

A major focus in my life is personal and transpersonal growth
(mainly through spirituality and consciousness development techniques),
to which I dedicate a pretty good amount of my time.
For over 26 years I have been a regular practitioner of the
Transcendental Meditation Programme,

originated in the ancient Vedic culture of India
and developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to fit
modern western thinking and lifestyle.

More recently, I have become interested in the meaning
of the Goddess as a myth and as a religious symbol,
and I found my niche in my own nature-based religion,
mainly consisting in simple rituals to the Goddess.
The Goddess, the mother of all creation, can
be honored through beautiful simple Moon ceremonies.
This "newer" spiritual avenue nicely complements my meditation practice,
which is mainly, for me, a scientific program for systematic transcendence.
Research has linked systematic transcendence
to a variety of psychological health indicators,
among which higher: intelligence, creativity, autonomy,
moral development, emotional stability.
